The tenant might want to consider talking to the landlord and explaining her point of view, and remind the landlord that the property is her home. The tenant has the right to enjoy living int he property, so long as the tenant is meeting all of her obligations. One of the obligations that the tenant has is to ensure that property is reasonably clean. The tenant may want to look around and ask herself, "If a stranger saw this place today, would they think it was clean?"If the tenant is not meeting their obligations, then the landlord can evict the tenant.
